Introducing...
The retro inspired typeface Phaeton. Veer describes it as evoking "the freshness and uniqueness of hand-drawn type, yet allows for easy typesetting." What more could you ask for?

floral installation
Preston Bailey is the mastermind behind this gorgeous Monique Lhuillier inspired wedding dress. It's made of 5,500 flowers: white calla lily, white hydrangea, white eskimo rose, pink Rosita vendela rose, phalaenopsis orchid, and gardenia). It's 11 ft. 4 in. tall and took 200 hours to create. My goodness! Wish I could see it in person.

in your arms
In your arms is where I want to be
when my world comes
crashing down on me.
So hold me close. Keep me yours always.
Bid me, break me, be my rock
for now and all my days.
Whom have I when my heart
begins to fail
and sorrow fills the streets
and sounds of death prevail.
Jesus is my hope and I know
he stills the wind.
So take my very life away
as long as I get him.
My soul longs for the day
I'll see your face.
When sin and death will pass
and tears are wiped away.
So let the sky fall down
and earth and cities quake
and I'll say of my God and king
Lord blessed be your name.
This song by Mandi Mapes has become a theme/breath prayer for my current stage of life (and I hope for all stages of my life). I have been broken in a serious way this semester (and past year) of my control and planning...of wanting to know and map out my future. It has been a roller coaster and I still have slight panic attacks (i.e. last night). BUT, how pleasant and joyful is this truth:
when my world comes
crashing down on me.
So hold me close. Keep me yours always.
Bid me, break me, be my rock
for now and all my days.

So, being broken, as hard as it is, is a healthy and good place for me to be. It means I see how utterly sinful I am and my desperate need for him. And causes complete thankfulness that He knows where He's taking me. And since he has my best interest in mind, why do I ever doubt him?
